CITY OF LAKE ANGELUS NOTICE OF ADOPTION – ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT On February 10, 2026, the Lake Angelus City Council adopted Ordinance No. 172 amending Section 1248.05(b) of the City’s Zoning Ordinance as follows: (b) The principal residence shall be limited to 60 square feet of floor space for each foot of lake frontage as described in 1240.08 Figure 4, Zoning Terms, and section 1246.07, Table of Regulations footnote 1, subject to the following: Floor space shall be measured from the exterior walls of a building, including hallways and stairways, provided that stairways shall be counted only on one floor level, but shall not include open areas of any floor level where there is no floor. The floor size of basements, garages, screened porches, and decks shall not be included in computing the size limitation, except that one-half of the total square footage of any walk-out basement shall be included in computing the size limitation. Where a principal residence, as provided for under Section 1248.02, has an attic truss system, storage truss system or conventional framed system which allows for utilization and/or conversion to space with a floor to ceiling height of 7 feet or more, such area shall be included and calculated as part of the total square footage calculation used in computing the size limitation of the principal residence. In the event that a person utilizes trusses with webs that prevent conversion to space with a floor to ceiling height of 7 feet or more, such floor space area shall not be included in the calculation of the total square footage allowed for the principal residence.
