CITY OF EASTPOINTE NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENTS: ORDINANCE 26-1254 Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 110 of 2006 (the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act), as amended, notice is hereby given that on February 18, 2026 the City of Eastpointe City Council adopted Ordinance 26-1254, which amended the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map as follows: 1. Section 2.07 Table of Land Uses by Zoning District was amended to add a named use of Contractor’s Office (with and without outdoor storage) and assign allowable zoning districts to same, and to remove the named use “Experiential Retail”. 2. Section 7.01 Accessory Uses, Buildings and Structures was added to regulate accessory uses, buildings and structures. 3. Section 7.03 Parking and Storage of Commercial / Recreational Vehicles was amended to align with Section 44-58 of the Eastpointe Code of Ordinances. 4. Section 8.04(B) Off-Street Parking Requirements was amended to correct a typographical error. 5. Section 9.04(B) and (C) Landscaping General Standards was amended to revise the requirements for landscape islands. 6. Section 9.05 Non-Single-Family Landscape Design Standards was amended to clarify regulations for the screening of outdoor storage. 7. Section 10.02 Sign Standards by District was amended to clarify regulations about maximum sign area and setbacks. 8. Section 10.03 Sign Definitions was amended to add the definition of Primary Street Frontage. 9. Section 10.05 Temporary Signage was amended to modify height regulations for temporary signage. 10. Section 13.02 Special Land Uses Required was amended to modify requirements for when a special land use is necessary. 11. Article 19 Glossary was amended to modify the definitions of Building Height, Coverage, and Event Hall, to add definitions of Contractor’s Office, Front Lot Line, Rear Lot Line, and Side Lot Line, and to remove the definition of experiential retail. 12. The Zoning Map was amended to change the zoning classification of a portion of the land at 24200 Gratiot Avenue (14-30-279-002) from MU-3 (Regional Mixed Use) to LI (Light Industrial). 13. The Zoning Map was amended to change the zoning classification of a portion of the land at 17375 8 Mile Road from MU-1 (Neighborhood Mixed-Use) to MU-3 (Regional Mixed-Use).
