The proposed sign is to be located 2 feet from the front property line which is also the edge of the sidewalk. Thus, the applicant is requesting a variance of 3 feet to locate the sign 2 feet back from the sidewalk/ front property line. Informational report: This sign has been to the Historic District Commission and has a tentative approval based on the actions of the Sign Board of Appeals. HDC has recommended your approval of the above sign. Their decision was based partially on the fact that to meet the 5-foot setback would place the sign in an asphalt parking space and thereby either reduce the allowable parking or not allow the sign. The plans for the variance requested are available for viewing in the Village Clerk’s office during normal business hours; Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
