CITY OF FLAT ROCK ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF A VARIANCE REQUEST NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN, pursuant to Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, that a public hearing will be held by the City of Flat Rock Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2026, in Conference Room A at City Hall. Participation details will be posted on the City’s website so that interested persons may participate in the hearing. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the purpose of the public hearing is to hear and consider variance requests for PZBA 25-013 26361 Peters Rd. A petition to request a variance to the following: Appendix A Zoning, Article 2.0, Section 2.20 Sub-section 1(c), Requirement for “(c) Fence height in front of structure.” Applicant is requesting a variance of “Allowing a proposed 14’ tall sound wall/ fence past the front corner of the principal structure in the required front yard setback to the west side of the property, on the east side of Peters Road.” Section 2.20 1(c) Proposed Height: 14’ Allowed Height: 4’-3” Proposed Variance Requested: 9’-9” And a petition to request a variance to the following: Appendix A Zoning, Article 2, Section 5.08 Sub-section (5) and (6), Requirement for “Required obscuring fence height for screening from residential areas” Applicant is requesting a variance of “Allowing a proposed 14’ tall sound wall/fence obscuring wall over the allowed height.” Section 5.08 (5), (6) Proposed Height: 14’ Allowed Height: 6’ Proposed Variance Requested: 8’ NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the proposal and supporting documents may be requested of the City Clerk via email at clerk@flatrockmi.org until the date of the Public Hearing.
