The Charter Township of Royal Oak Board of Trustees approved at a Board of Trustee meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Hall, located at 21131 Garden ln, Ferndale, MI 48220, Gymnasium the following resolution. Repeal and Replace Chapter 32 of the Charter Township of Royal Oak Zoning Ordinance and Adopt a New Chapter 32 Zoning Ordinance as recommended by the Planning Commission. The proposed ordinance amendments include revisions to multiple sections of the Township Zoning Ordinance relating to zoning districts, definitions, permitted land uses, dimensional standards, residential development standards, landscaping requirements, parking regulations, and use-specific standards. The amendments are intended to modernize the ordinance, improve administrative clarity, support housing diversity, streamline development regulations, and align the ordinance with current planning objectives and development patterns within the Township. Ordinance Effective date of this Ordinance shall be 70 days following the adopted ordinance.
