Monday, March 23, 2026 Notice is hereby given that the Rochester Hills City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, March 23, 2026 commencing at 7:00 PM Michigan time at the Rochester Hills Municipal Offices, 1000 Rochester Hills Drive, Rochester Hills, Oakland County, Michigan to review the special assessment roll, give interested persons an opportunity to be heard, consider all objections to the roll, correct or annul the roll, as necessary, and confirm the special assessment roll for the special assessment district created by the City Council by resolution dated January 26, 2026 pursuant to Chapter 90 of the code of ordinances of the City of Rochester Hills for the public improvement of paving the following road within section 14: Childress Ave and Enid Street, west of Rochester Road, within the City of Rochester Hills, Oakland County, Michigan. The Director of Assessing has certified and filed in the office of the City Clerk a special assessment roll describing all parcels of land to be assessed, with the names of the respective owners thereof, if known, and the total amount to be assessed against each parcel of land, on a declining rate ratio basis, with cost to the property owner capped at $15,707.05 per buildable lot (existing and/or potential). The City Council shall hear objections and either correct, annul or confirm the special assessment roll at the public hearing. The certified Special Assessment Roll is on file along with plans and cost estimates in the office of the City Clerk for public examination during regular business hours, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Pursuant to PA 162 of 1962, effective 3/23/2026, the property owner or party-in-interest may file a written appeal of the Special Assessment with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within thirty (30) days of the confirmation of the assessment roll, only if an owner of party-in-interest, or his or her agent, appeared and protested the assessment at the hearing held for the purpose of confirming the roll. Such appearance and protest may be made by filing a letter with the City Clerk prior to such hearing.
