SECTION 00100 ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS 2026 SLUDGE PUMPS REPLACEMENT AT THE GROSSE ILE WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN Contract No. GI-765 00100-1 Sealed bids for the Removal and Replacement of the Sludge Pumps at the Waste Water Treatment plant, Grosse Ile Township, Michigan will be received at the office of the Township Clerk, Grosse Ile, 9601 Groh Road, Grosse Ile, Michigan, 48138 until 2:30 p.m., local time, on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at which time and place said Bids will be publicly opened and read for the following summary items: Section I – Base Bid Item 1. Sludge Pump and Piping Demolition The existing three (3) sludge pumps SSP-1, 2 and 3 shall be carefully removed, salvaged, and turned over to the Owner. Existing 3” discharge piping and valves (plug and check) shall be removed along with the 3” discharge header piping. There are three (3) air release valves (ARVs) and associated piping and supports that shall be removed. The ARVs shall be carefully removed and turned over to the Owner. The existing flushing line and pump seal water piping shall be disconnected for reinstallation to the new discharge header pipe and pumps, respectively. Demolition work also includes removal of the concrete pump pedestals that were installed for the current pumps. Electrical demolition work consists of disconnecting the 3-phase wires from the existing pumps for reconnection to the new pump motors and relocating the existing disconnect switches adjacent to each pump due to the new pump footprint. *Note: The demolition work will need to be phased to keep existing pump SSP-1 operational while SSP-2 and SSP-3 are replaced. Phase 2 demolition to remove SSP-1 will occur after SSP-2 and SSP-3 are operational. Item 2. Sludge Pump and Piping Installation Install three (3) new sludge pumps (Wemco 4x11S Model E) furnished by Owner, include modification of existing concrete pump pad adjusted/ raised by approximately 1-1/2” to match the pump suction centerline with the existing suction piping centerline. New 4” ductile iron piping, plug valves, and check valves shall be installed. Reconnection of flushing and seal water lines is required. The seal water line shall have a new pressure gauge and sight flow indicator. Electrical work consists of reconnecting the existing conductor wires from the relocated disconnect switches to the pump motors with new flexible conduit. E. Raines Company), 17700 Fort Street, Riverview, Michigan 48193. 00100-2 Bids shall remain firm and may not be withdrawn within ninety (90) days after the actual date of opening thereof. A completed Bid Bond, Certified Check or Cashier’s Check in a sum not less than five (5) percent of the proposed amount of the proposal submitted, shall accompany each proposal as security for the acceptance of the Contract by the lowest qualified bidder. Should the Contractor fail to enter into a Contract agreement with the Owner, through no fault of the Owner, he shall forfeit the entire amount of the security to the Owner. Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal, waive any irregularity in any proposal, and make award in any manner. Proposals submitted after the exact time specified for receipt will not be considered. A (non mandatory attendance) project Pre-bid Conference will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grosse Ile Waste Water Treatment Plant 24975 West River Road, Grosse Ile, Michigan, 48138. Representatives of the OWNER and ENGINEER will discuss the Project and provide clarification to prospective bidders, who are encouraged to attend and submit questions for clarification.
