1954 PA 188 PROCEEDINGS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT #957 City of Wyandotte Wayne County, MI TO: THE RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITY OF WYANDOTTE, WAYNE COUNTY, MI, AND ANY OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Finance Department has reported to the City Council and filed in the office of the City Clerk for public examination a special assessment roll prepared by him/her covering all properties within the Special Assessment District #957 benefited by the 2025 Sidewalk Program spans the area bound by Fort Street (M85) to Electric Street between Ford Avenue and South Branch of the Ecorse River in the City of Wyandotte, County of Wayne, State of Michigan. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Finance Department has further reported that the assessment against each parcel of land within said district is such relative portion of the whole sum levied against all parcels of land in said district as the benefit to such parcels bears to the total benefit to all parcels of land in said district. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the City Council will meet in the Council Chambers of the Wyandotte City Hall, 3200 Biddle Avenue, Wyandotte, Michigan, within the City Council meeting commencing at 7:00PM on May 18, 2026 for the purpose of reviewing said special assessment roll and hearing any objections thereto. Said roll may be examined at the office of the City Clerk during regular business hours of regular business days until the time of said hearing and may further be examined at said hearing. Appearance and protest at the hearing held to create the Special Assessment District is required in order to appeal the amount of the special assessment to the state tax tribunal. An owner, or party in interest, or his or her agent may appear in person at the hearing to protest the special assessment, or shall be permitted to file his or her appearance or protest by letter, which shall be read aloud and made part of the hearing, and his or her personal appearance shall not be required. If the hearing is terminated or adjourned for the day before a party is provided the opportunity to be heard, the party whose appearance or written protest was recorded is considered to have protested the special assessment in person. The owner or any person having an interest in the real property who protests in person or in writing at the hearing may file a written appeal of the special assessment with the state tax tribunal within 30 days after the hearing.
