NOTICE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT HEARING TO REVIEW THE ESTIMATES FOR SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 1-2026 CITY OF MT. PLEASANT, County of Isabella, Michigan TO THE OWNERS OF ALL PROPERTY WITHIN THE DISTRICT: TAKE NOTICE that the City Commission of the City of Mt. Pleasant, Isabella County, Michigan, has determined it to be necessary to provide funding for the care and maintenance of downtown parking and public areas of the district. The total funding for the Principal Shopping District, for two years, is estimated to be $104,700 each year to be spread over the special assessment district based on the square footage of each building to be used for maintenance in the district. The City Commission has caused a report concerning said funding for the Principal Shopping District to be prepared, which report includes a description of the assessment district and other pertinent information. This report is on file in the office of the City Clerk, 320 W. Broadway Street, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., and available for public examination. TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT THE CITY COMMISSION WILL MEET ON FEBRUARY 9, 2026, AT 7:00 P.M, AS PART OF THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING, FOR THE PURPOSE OF HEARING INPUT ON THE NECESSITY OF PROVIDING FUNDING FOR THE PRINCIPAL SHOPPING DISTRICT AND THE INCLUSION OF PROPERTY WITHIN THE PROPOSED SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT. The Public Hearing will be held in person with virtual attendance options available. The public may view the meeting live on the City’s YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/MtPleasantMi/ , on Spectrum Charter channel 188, or via Zoom if you wish to participate in the hearing. A link to the Zoom meeting will be available on the City’s website at www.mt-pleasant.org. All interested persons may attend and participate.
