CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BROWNSTOWN WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDINANCE NO. 319-1 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE 319 (BROWNSTOWN TOWNSHIP OFFICIALS' COMPENSATION COMMISSION), PROVIDING FOR REPEALER, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BROWNSTOWN ORDAINS: Section 1. Repeal of Ordinance 319 Creating the Commission. The Ordinance known as Brownstown Ordinance 319 and referred to as the Brownstown Township Officials’ Compensation Commission is hereby repealed and otherwise held for naught. Section 2. Prior Actions. That all actions of the Commission taken prior to the repeal of the Ordinance are hereby preserved and, as such, this Ordinance shall only have prospective effect. Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed only to the extent necessary to give this ordinance full force and effect. Section 4. Severability. If any article, section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of remaining portions of the Ordinance, it being the intent of the Township that this Ordinance shall be fully severable. 1st Reading Township Board approved on August 17, 2026. 2nd Reading to be adopted by the Township Board on September 21, 2026.
