CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BROWNSTOWN WAYNE COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDINANCE NO. 307-1 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 307 PART 113.001 TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL COSTS THAT MAY BE RECOVERED, PROVIDING FOR REPEALER, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BROWNSTOWN ORDAINS: Section 1. 113.001 (f) shall now provide: (f) Costs incurred by any specialized unit organized under the Michigan Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MI-MABAS) or other authorized mutual aid organization, including but not limited to Hazardous Materials (HazMat) Teams, Technical Rescue Teams (TRT), Trench Rescue Teams, Confined Space Rescue Teams, High-Angle/Rope Rescue Teams, Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Teams, and Water/Ice Rescue Teams. Section 2. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are repealed only to the extent necessary to give this ordinance full force and effect. Section 3. Severability. If any article, section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance is held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate distinct, and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of remaining portions of the Ordinance, it being the intent of the Township that this Ordinance shall be fully severable. Section 4. Effective Date; Publication. This Ordinance was approved and adopted by the Township Board of Brownstown Charter Township, Wayne County, Michigan, on August 17, 2026, after introduction and a first reading on July 6, 2026, and publication after first reading as required by Act 359 of the Michigan Public Acts of 1947, as amended. This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon publication in The News Herald, a newspaper having general circulation in the Township. I further certify that the foregoing was published in The News Herald, a newspaper of general circulation in the Charter Township of Brownstown, on the 23rd day of August, 2026.
