The Oakland Press is the largest daily newspaper that serves the Highland Greens Estates area. Highland Greens Estates Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Discharge What Happened? A sewer pipe became plugged and backed up through a manhole cover into the yard of a vacant lot. The sewage overflow was isolated to the individual yard, no sewage overflowed to any surface water(s). A jetting truck was utilized to unclog the line on 3/3/26. When did the SSO discharge occur? Overflow began on 3/3/26 at approximately 1:00PM. Overflow ended 3/3/26 at approximately 5:00PM. Where did the SSO discharge occur? The overflow occurred at the corner of Baird and Mead (in Highland Greens Estates Mobile Home Park- the neighborhood at 2377 North Milford Rd., Highland, MI 48357). Highland Greens Estates is operating in compliance with its NPDES permit and applicable state and federal law.
