CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF UNION NOTICE OF PUBLICATION BY POSTING A SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AMENDATORY ORDINANCE Please take notice that the Charter Township of Union Board of Trustees held a first reading of the proposed PREZ26-02 Official Zoning Map Amendatory Ordinance on April 22, 2026 in the Township Hall Board Room. A true copy of the proposed ordinance may be inspected or obtained upon request during business hours at the Charter Township of Union office, 2010 South Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858, or on the Township’s website. The ordinance will be considered for a second reading and adoption at the regular Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Hall Board Room at 2010 S. Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858. The following is a summary of the proposed ordinance: Part 1 PREZ26-02 Rezoning Request to amend the Official Zoning Map to rezone PID 14-003-30-001-25, a 7.77 acre parcel of land north of E. River Road at Morey Drive in the southeast quarter of Section 3, from R-2A (One- and Two-Family, Low Density Residential) to AG (Agricultural). Part 2 Severability confirms that ordinance elements are severable as provided by law. Part 3 Publication confirms that state law publication requirements will be met. Part 4 Effective Date establishes the effective date of the ordinance, based on adoption and publication requirements. Publication of the ordinance was made by this notice and posting of the true copy of the proposed ordinance at the Charter Township of Union office and on the Township’s website pursuant to the requirements of the Charter Township Act (Public Act 359 of 1947, as amended, being MCL 42.1 – MCL42.34).
