BRUCE TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES NOTICE OF ADOPTION Bruce Township Zoning Ordinance Ordinance 161-04-26 Notice is hereby given that the Bruce Township Board adopted an amendment to the Bruce Township Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance 161) at its regular meeting on Wednesday, July 25, 2026. ARTICLE 1. Amend Section 161-7.1.H to read as follows: H. Approval Period. Except as provided in subsection I of Section 161-7.1, no order of the Zoning Board of Appeals permitting the erection or alteration of a building shall be valid for a period longer than one (1) year, unless a building permit for such erection or alteration is obtained within such period, and such erection or alteration is started and proceeds to completion in accordance with the terms of such permit. Except as provided in subsection I of Section 161- 7.1, no order of the Zoning Board of Appeals permitting a use of a building or land shall be valid for a period longer than one (1) year unless such use is established within such period; provided, however, that where such order shall continue in force and effect if a building permit for said erection or alteration is obtained within such period, and such erection or alteration is started and proceeds to completion in accordance with such permit. ARTICLE 2. REPEAL, EFFECTIVE DATE 1. 2. All regulatory provisions contained in other Township Ordinances which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. The amendment addresses the validity period for ZBA approval. A complete copy of the amendments may be examined at Bruce Township Hall, 223 East Gates Street, Romeo, MI 48065, during the Township’s regular business hours, Monday through Thursday 8:30 am through 4:30 pm. This ordinance shall be effective seven days following publication. This notice is published pursuant to the requirements of the Michigan Zoning Enabling ACT, PA 110 of 2006, as amended.
