STATE OF MICHIGAN COUNTY OF WAYNE CITY OF ALLEN PARK ORDINANCE #07-2025 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ALLEN PARK CODE OF ORDINANCES; AMENDING CHAPTER 16, “ENVIRONMENT”, BY THE REPEAL OF ARTICLE III, “TREES AND SHRUBS”, AND READOPTION TO READ ARTICLE III, “TREES, HEDGES AND SHRUBS” TO DEFINE HEDGES AND FURTHER REGULATE HEDGES AND SHRUBS. The City of Allen Park Ordains: SECTION 1. Amendment to Code. That Chapter 16 “Environment”, Article III “Trees and Shrubs”, be repealed and readopted to hereafter read as follows: Chapter 16 “Environment” Article III “Trees, Hedges and Shrubs” ARTICLE III. – TREES, HEDGES AND SHRUBS Sec. 16-83. - Definitions. Sec. 16-84. - Authority of department of public services over trees and plants in public places. Sec. 16-85. - Permit required for planting certain trees. Sec. 16-86. - Permit required for actions affecting trees or shrubs on public ways. Sec. 16-87. - Application for permit. Sec. 16-88. - Attaching articles to trees on public ways. Sec. 16-89. - Growth on adjacent land obstructing public way. Sec. 16-90. - Obstruction of vision along streets and sidewalks. Sec 16-91.- Hedge and Shrubbery within Front Yard Sec. 16-92. - Removal of dangerous or dead material. Sec. 16-93. - Protection of trees and plants in public way during excavation or construction. Sec. 16-94. - Obstruction of roots of trees and plants in public ways. Sec. 16-95. - Destruction of diseased or infected growth. Sec. 16-96. - Failure to perform work; assessment of costs by city.
