THE CITY OF BERKLEY Community Development Department 3338 Coolidge, Berkley, Michigan 48072 (248) 658-3320 NOXIOUS WEEDS PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF BERKLEY NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with Article III, Noxious Weeds, of Chapter 130 of the Berkley City Code, that all owners, occupants or agents in charge of land within the City are required to cut and remove noxious weeds, grass and similar vegetaion. Noxious vegetation shall not exceed a height of eight inches above ground level. Failure to cut or remove such vegetation by May 1, and to maintain the property thereafter, will result in the City entering upon the property to cut and remove such vegetation. The cost of cutting, including administrative expenses, will be be levied and collected against the property in the same manner as taxes, and constitutes a lien on the property until paid. Failure to comply with this notice may also result in the issuance of a municipal civil infraction and fines as provided by the City Code. “Noxious weeds” includes those species identified under Michigan Public Act 359 of 1941, as amended, along with any weeds, grass or vegetation exceeding the permitted height.
