NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF GROSSE ILE TOWNSHIP: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Grosse Ile Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at the Office of the Township Clerk; the Office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.comwww. The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20, 2026. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.492) at the Grosse Ile Township Clerk’s Office, located at 9601 Groh Road, Grosse Ile, MI 48138 at the following times: • Regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. • Saturday and Sunday, July 25th, July 26th, August 1st and August 2nd, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Election Day, Tuesday, August 4th, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Grosse Ile Township will be voting on the following proposals as presented and listed below: AUTHORITY Wayne County Transit Authority Wayne County Public Transportation Millage • 0.9831 mills (0.98 cents per $1,000 of taxable value) for 10 years TOWNSHIP Millage to Maintain Current Police Department Operations Shall the Township of Grosse Ile impose a new police millage totaling 1.92 mills ($1.92 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of five (5) years, 2026 through 2030 inclusive, which will replace an existing 1.0 mill levy reduced through rollbacks to .97 mills which will expire in 2026, for the purposes of providing funds for the operation of the Township Police Department, including personnel, equipment, and capital expenses? The millage will raise an estimated $1,605,618.70 in the first year the millage is levied? A sample ballot may be viewed at mi.gov/vote.
