Notice of Availability Final Environmental Assessment for the Runway Encroachment Solution Project at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Harrison Township, Michigan The Department of the Air Force (DAF) and the National Guard Bureau (NGB), in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), announce the availability of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) and Final Finding of No Significant Impact/Finding of No Practicable Alternative (FONSI/FONPA) for the Runway Encroachment Solution Project at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The project evaluates shifting the runway north to reduce residential encroachment and address safety concerns within the southern clear zone of the airfield. The proposed improvements are intended to enhance airfield safety by addressing critical safety concerns, improve operational efficiency, and support ongoing military mission requirements. The Draft EA and Draft FONSI/FONPA were previously made available for public and agency review from March 16, 2026 through April 15, 2026.
