NOTICE TO CITY OF MOUNT CLEMENS PROPERTY OWNERS TO DESTROY NOXIOUS WEEDS TO ALL PROPERTY OWNERS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF MOUNT CLEMENS: As provided for in Public Act #359 of the Public Acts of 1941, as amended, and the Code of Ordinances of the City of Mount Clemens #35.005, Section 5 and #35.006, Section 6, as amended, you are hereby notified that it shall be the duty of all owners of land on which noxious weeds are growing to destroy the same before they have reached a height greater than eight (8) inches, and to prevent such noxious weeds from creating a condition which may be detrimental to the public health and welfare. Said destruction shall be completed no later than May 1st and as many times as necessary to maintain the lots from perpetuating themselves and becoming a detriment to the public health. Failure of any property owner to destroy said noxious weeds by May 1st and thereafter as necessary, will result in the City of Mount Clemens entering on said premises to destroy said weeds, as often as necessary, at the expense of the property owner and will result in the property owner being billed for the costs incurred by the City; $105.00 per parcel, per cutting or destroying on parcels of 10,000 square feet or less, plus $52.50 for each additional 5,000 square feet, or portion thereof, for parcels greater than 10,000 square feet. Said expense will consist of a lien on the property as provided by law. Failure to comply with the Noxious Weeds Ordinance may also subject the violator to prosecution for violation thereof.
