NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF DEARBORN HEIGHTS: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that an election will be held in Dearborn Heights on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. Any qualified elector of Dearborn Heights, who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Dearborn Heights City Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State Branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms may also be completed online at www.michigan.gov/vote, mailed to the Dearborn Heights City Clerk or emailed to clerks@dearbornheightsmi.gov. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com. The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20, 2026. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the Dearborn Heights Clerk’s Office, located at 6045 Fenton, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127 at the following times: - Regular business hours: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Election Day, Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE the purpose of the election is to vote for the following offices: GOVERNOR UNITED STATES SENATOR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS (12th & 13th District) STATE SENATOR (2nd District) REPRESENTATIVE IN STATE LEGISLATURE (15th & 25th District) COUNTY EXECUTIVE DELEGATE TO COUNTY CONVENTION And the following proposals: Wayne County Transit Authority Wayne County Public Transportation Millage; A proposal to authorize the Wayne County Transit Authority to levy a millage for the purpose of funding public transportation services in Wayne County, including operating, maintaining, improving, and expanding transit services; creating and expanding new fixed routes for bus service connecting local communities; expanding transportation services for seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, and the general public to access healthcare, education, and other daily needs. The millage would be levied at a maximum rate of 0.9831 mills (0.98 cents per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 10 years beginning with the 2026 tax year levy and ending with the 2035 tax year levy. This millage would replace an expiring millage levied by the Wayne County Transit Authority supporting the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (“SMART”). If this new millage is approved and levied, revenue will be distributed to Wayne County, SMART, Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT), and other community and regional transit providers. It is estimated that $57,616,329.00 will be collected in the first year. Wayne-Westland Community Schools Replacement Building and Site Sinking Fund Millage Proposal; This proposal will replace the authority last approved by the electors in 2022 and which expires with the 2032 levy for the School District to levy a building and site sinking fund millage. This proposal allows the use of proceeds of the millage for all purposes previously approved by the electors and permitted by law as well as the newly authorized acquisition of student transportation vehicles, trucks and vans. Pursuant to State law, the expenditure of the building and site sinking fund millage proceeds must be audited, and the proceeds cannot be used for teacher, administrator or employee salaries, maintenance or other operating expenses. As a replacement of existing authority, shall the Wayne-Westland Community Schools, County of Wayne, State of Michigan, be authorized to levy 0.9804 mills ($0.98 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation), for a period of seven (7) years, being the years 2026 to 2032, inclusive, to create a building and site sinking fund to be used for the purchase of real estate for sites, and the construction or repair of school buildings, school security improvements, the acquisition or upgrading of technology, the acquisition of student transportation vehicles, trucks and vans and parts, supplies and equipment used for the maintenance of these vehicles and for any other purposes permitted by law? This millage if approved and levied would provide estimated revenues to the School District of approximately $1,315,750 during the 2026 calendar year.
