NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF STERLING HEIGHTS: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that any qualified elector who wishes to vote in the August 4, 2026 Primary Election may register to vote or change his or her address in any of the following manners: IN PERSON: At the Sterling Heights Clerk’s Office – 40555 Utica Road • During normal business hours, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. through July 31, 2026 • Saturday, August 1, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. • Monday, August 3, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. • Election Day, August 4, 2026, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. (not at a precinct) • For registrations submitted within 14 days of an election, proof of residency documentation (such as Michigan Driver’s License, Michigan ID, utility bill, insurance documents, bank or credit card statement, financial aid or school enrollment documents, lease, paycheck or other government check, other government documents) must be presented. At any of the following offices by Monday, July 20, 2026, during normal business hours: • Macomb County Clerk’s Office. • Secretary of State Branch Offices. • Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Offices. • Michigan Department of Military and Veteran Affairs Offices. • Other voter registration agencies designated by the Michigan Secretary of State. BY MAIL: • Download and complete a Voter Registration Application at mi.gov/vote. • Mail to the election official as directed on the application by Monday, July 20, 2026. ONLINE: • Use the Michigan online voter registration program at mi.gov/vote to register online by Monday, July 20, 2026. • To register online, a valid Michigan driver’s license or state ID and the last 4-digits of your Social Security Number are required. VOTER QUALIFICATIONS: • A resident of Michigan and the city or township where you are applying to register to vote for at least 30 days before Election Day. • A citizen of the United States of America. • At least 18 years of age by Election Day (can pre-register as early as 16 years of age) • Not serving a sentence in jail or prison. THE PURPOSE OF THE ELECTION IS TO VOTE FOR CANDIDATES FOR THE FOLLOWING OFFICES: Offices: • Governor • U.S. Senator • U.S. Representative in Congress • State Senator • State Representative • Macomb County Executive • Precinct Delegates to the Democratic and Republican Party County Conventions • Judge of Circuit Court – Non-Incumbent Position A sample ballot may be viewed at mi.gov/vote. EARLY VOTING: Early Voting is available to all registered voters for nine (9) days before the election. Voters can insert their ballot right into a tabulator. PERMANENT ABSENTEE BALLOT LIST: Registered voters are eligible to sign up to automatically receive an absentee ballot before every election.
