NOTICE TO CITIZENS OF THE TRENTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS On April 27, 2026, Mrs. Maegan E. Drake resigned from her position as Board Secretary and Trustee of the Trenton Public Schools Board of Education effective May 9, 2026. It is the duty of the Board to appoint a person to fill the vacant position by June 8, 2026 (30 days from effective date of resignation). The Trenton Public Schools Board of Education is seeking applications for the vacant trustee position on the Board of Education. Michigan law requires that a person appointed to fill a school board vacancy shall serve until the next regular election, in this case November 3, 2026. The appointee will fill the vacant position until December 31, 2026. In accordance with the state’s Revised School Code, election laws, and Open Meetings Act, to be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector. This means that the applicant must be a registered voter in the Trenton Public Schools district, a resident of the school district, at least 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the state of Michigan for at least 30 days. Eligible residents of the Trenton Public Schools interested in being considered for appointment as a school board trustee are asked to submit their letter of interest/resume and the corresponding application by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, to the Office of the Superintendent, Trenton Public Schools, 2603 Charlton Road, Trenton, Michigan 48183. (Phone 734-692-4511). The Board of Education anticipates reviewing letters of interest and submitted materials at a Special meeting on Thursday, May 28, 2026.
