Joint Statement from Waterford Township and The Oakland Press Regarding October 28, 2025 Planning Commission Public Notice Waterford Township and The Oakland Press would like to clarify a recent publication error involving the Planning Commission public notice for the October 28, 2025 meeting. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Waterford Township submitted a public notice to The Oakland Press listing the cases scheduled for review at the upcoming October 28, 2025 Planning Commission meeting. A revised version of that notice was sent the following day to remove one case at the request of the applicant, who had chosen to withdraw their own agenda item, and to renumber the remaining items accordingly. During the revision process, a miscommunication occurred that resulted in Case #PRSA 25-09-04 (Bell Site Development, 5100 Hudson) being inadvertently omitted from the published notice. The omission was unintentional and stemmed from the procedural handling of the revision, not from any action or decision by the Township or The Oakland Press. Once the error was identified, Township staff and The Oakland Press worked together to document the sequence of events and ensure that the record accurately reflected what occurred. In order to comply with the public notification requirements of the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act, this agenda item must now be postponed and re-noticed for a future Planning Commission meeting. This step ensures full transparency and preserves the public’s right to be informed and participate in the decision-making process. Waterford Township and The Oakland Press appreciate the community’s understanding and remain committed to maintaining accuracy, accountability, and openness in all public communications.
