TOWNSHIP OF GROSSE ILE NOTICE TO ELIGIBLE TAXPAYERS APPLICATION FOR DEFERMENT OF 2026 SUMMER TAXES The Grosse Ile Township Treasurer is currently accepting applications for summer 2026 tax deferments (deferments are not exemptions). To qualify, household annual income cannot exceed $40,000. The applicant(s) must also be: (1) 62 years of age or older, including the unremarried surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at the time of death (2) paraplegic or quadriplegic (3) eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, eligible widow or widower (4) a blind person, or (5) totally or permanently disabled. Persons eligible for deferment can only file their deferment until September 14, 2026. Approved deferments will defer the payment due date of the summer 2026 tax bill to February 14, 2027. Deferments must be filed annually.
