CITY OF TAYLOR NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF TAYLOR: Notice is hereby given that any qualified elector of the City of Taylor who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the City Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency. Registration forms can be obtained at Michigan.gov/vote and mailed to the City Clerk at 23555 Goddard, Taylor, MI 48180. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com or Michigan.gov/vote The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20, 2026. After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL 168.497) at the Taylor Clerk’s office, located at 23555 Goddard, Taylor, MI 48180 at the following times: • Regular business hours: Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. • Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Election Day, Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The purpose of the Primary election is to vote upon the following: Governor United States Senator Representative in Congress- 13th District State Senator- 2nd District (precincts 1-5 & 7-11) State Senator- 4th District (precincts 6 & 12-15) State Representative- 28th District (precincts 13-15) State Representative- 29th District (precincts 1-12) County Executive Delegate to County Convention PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the following proposal shall be voted on: Public Transportation Millage To authorize the Wayne County Transit Authority to levy a millage for the purpose of funding public transportation services in Wayne County, including operating, maintaining, improving and expanding transit services. The millage would be levied at a maximum rate of 0.9831 mills (0.98 cents per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of 10 years beginning with the 2026 tax year levy and ending with the 2035 tax year levy. This millage would replace an expiring millage levied by the Wayne County Transit Authority supporting the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (“SMART”). If this new millage is approved and levied, revenue will be distributed to Wayne County, SMART, Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT), and other community and regional transit providers. It is estimated that $57,616,329.00 will be collected in the first year.
