CLAIR SHORES NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE CREATION OF A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AND TO HEAR OBJECTIONS TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE DREDGING OF THE MAPLE-BENJAMIN CANAL PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Council of the City of St. Clair Shores has received sufficient petitions, which are on file in the Office of the City Clerk, requesting that the City create a Special Assessment District for the dredging of the Maple-Benjamin Canal. A Public Hearing will be held before the City Council at City Hall, 27600 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores, Michigan on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda will permit, to consider the creation of the Special Assessment District for the dredging of the Maple-Benjamin Canal and to hear objections to the said improvement. The request from the Maple-Benjamin Canal Association is to dredge approximately 1,000 cubic yards of sediment. The legal description of the Maple-Benjamin Canal Dredging 2026 district boundaries are as follows: COUCHEZ’S LAKE ST CLAIR SUBDIVISION (L3, P3) ALL OF LOTS 11-12, LOTS 15-16, LOTS 19-20, LOTS 23-24, LOTS 27-28, LOTS 31-32, LOTS 35-36, LOTS 39-40 AND LOT 43; ASSESSORS PLAT NO 19 SUB (L15, P1) ALL OF LOTS 10 -12 (D) & (E), LOT 13 (H), LOT 14 (I), AND LOT 15; WEST’S VENETIAN GARDENS SUB (L12, P42) ALL OF LOTS 8 – 37 AND FILLED LANDS LYING ADJACENT.
