CITY OF GIBRALTAR REGULAR COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS MAY 11, 2026 The regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Gibraltar convened at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 29450 Munro Avenue, Gibraltar, MI. 48173 Present: Shumate, Boismier, Cox, Dill, McNabb, Molnar Absent: LaPointe COUNCIL TOOK THE FOLLOWING ACTION: 26-147 Excuse Councilwoman LaPointe as absent. 26-148 Approve the agenda. 26-149 Approve the consent agenda as follows, removing item A) Bills Reference #21: B) Payroll #1011, C) City Council Minutes of 4/27/2026, D) Special City Council Minutes of 4/27/2026, E) City Council Study Session Minutes of 4/28/2026, F) Beautification Commission Minutes of 4/23/2026, G) Police Department Report for 5/11/2026, H) Fire Department Report for 5/11/2026, I) GFD Communication: American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb, J) GFD Communication: Ladder Truck Repair Update, K) GFD Communication: Recognition of FF/EMT Eshelman. 26-150 Allow Councilman Molnar to recuse himself from the vote regarding Bills Reference #21 due to financial affiliation. 26-151 Approve Bills Reference #21. 26-152 Approve the Special Events Policy for a term of 90 days and to hold a study session for further discussion, review, and amendments within 60 days following the approval of Council. 26-153 Cease performance reviews of the Parks & Recreation Director, DPW Supervisor, and Finance Director by City Council pursuant to Division 2 Section 2-48 of the City of Gibraltar Code of Ordinances. 26-154 Approve the contract with Plante & Moran, PLLC. 26-155 Adopt the resolution closing account ending in 031 with Public Service Credit Union. 26-156 Approve a Selection Committee to determine winners for the 2026 Gibraltar Community Awards. 26-157 Nominate Councilman Boismier as the Councilmember representative on the Selection Committee for the 2026 Gibraltar Community Awards. 26-158 Adopt the resolution City of Gibraltar and Wayne County Approving Water Main Agreement – West Jefferson Road. 26-159 Approve the purchase of water meter heads from Ferguson Waterworks. 26-160 Approve the quote from Kennedy Industries for repairs to the Bayview Pump Station. 26-161 Approve the invoice from Kennedy Industries for Sanitary Lift Station service call. 26-162 Approve the invoice from Kennedy Industries for Bayview Storm Lift Station. 26-163 Allow Councilman Molnar to recuse himself from the vote regarding items I, J, and K on the agenda. 26-164 Approve the Flo-Aire quote for repairs to the City Hall HVAC. 26-165 Approve the Flo-Aire quote for the Community Center kitchen exhaust fan. 26-166 Approve the National Metal Sales quote for Community Center gutter repairs. 26-167 Put up the surplused DPW equipment for sale, as listed (1996 Ford 800 dump/plow tuck, John Deere Gator, and John Deere Zero Turn Mower Modal Z830A). 26-168 Approve Gibraltar Fire Department staffing for the Parsons Bike to School Day on May 29, 2026. 26-169 Approve Gibraltar Fire Department staffing for Corwell Trenton Safety Day on May 30, 2026. 26-170 Approve Gibraltar Fire Department for Government Day on June 3, 2026. 26-171 Adjourn at 8:12 p.m. DETAILED MINUTES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OR AT CITYOFGIBRALTARMI.GOV AND CLICK ON “AGENDAS & MINUTES.” Garrett Shumate, Mayor Katherine Tomasik, City Clerk Pub: 6-17-2026
