CITY OF FLAT ROCK ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF A VARIANCE REQUEST NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN, pursuant to Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, that a public hearing will be held by the City of Flat Rock Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 8th, 2026, in Conference Room A at City Hall. Participation details will be posted on the City’s website so that interested persons may participate in the hearing. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the purpose of the public hearing is to hear and consider a variance request for: PZBA 26-003 Setbacks at 29224 S. Wesley Ave. A petition to request a variance to the following: Appendix A Zoning, Article 23.00, Requirement for “R1-C Front yard setback: 30’. R1-C Rear yard setback: 45’.” Applicant is requesting a variance of “Demolishing an existing residential accessory structure that is 16’x20’ and constructing a new residential accessory structure that is 26’x20’. Partially in the same location on a non-conforming lot in the R1-C zoning district, resulting in a deficient rear and front yard setback around the new structure. Rear Yard Setback- Allowed: 45’ Proposed: 13.66’ Deficient: 31.37’. Front Yard Setback- Allowed: 30’ Proposed: 20’ Deficient: 10’.” NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the proposal and supporting documents may be requested of the City Clerk via email at clerk@flatrockmi.org until the date of the Public Hearing.
