CITY OF FLAT ROCK ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF A VARIANCE REQUEST NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN, pursuant to Public Act 110 of 2006, as amended, that a public hearing will be held by the City of Flat Rock Zoning Board of Appeals at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 8th, 2026, in Conference Room A at City Hall. Participation details will be posted on the City’s website so that interested persons may participate in the hearing. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the purpose of the public hearing is to hear and consider a variance request for: PZBA 26-004 Sign at 27260 Brown St. A petition to request a variance to the following: Appendix A Zoning, Article 27.00, Section 27.07 Sub-section E (1), Requirement for “E. Signs for nonconforming uses. Each nonconforming nonresidential use in a residential district shall be permitted one wall-mounted sign, subject to the following requirements: (1) The maximum size for such a sign shall be two square feet.” Applicant is requesting a variance of “Installing a proposed wall sign in a residentially zoned district larger than the 2 square feet allowed by ordinance. Allowed: 2 SQ FT, Proposed: 24.77 SQ FT, Overage: 22.77 SQ FT.” NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that the proposal and supporting documents may be requested of the City Clerk via email at clerk@flatrockmi.org until the date of the Public Hearing.
