CITY OF CLAWSON PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING CHAPTER 34 “ZONING” ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Notice is hereby given that the Clawson Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 23, 2026, beginning at 7:30 PM, or as soon thereafter as the agenda allows, at Clawson City Hall, 425 N. Main St, Clawson, MI 48017. A teleconference attendance option will be provided. Meeting information will be provided on the City’s website: www.CityofClawson.com The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on proposed amendments to the zoning ordinance. Amendments would have the following effects: Remove the lists of prohibited uses from the West Gate, Business Renewal District 1, and Business Renewal District 2 districts. Adopt standards and definitions to ensure that adult uses and pawn shops are treated and listed as distinct uses from standard retail and entertainment uses, and limit those uses to placement in the I-1 district. Definitions are adopted in Section 2.2, while standards for adult uses will comprise new section 4.47, and standards for pawn shops will comprise new section 4.53. A copy of the proposed amendment is available for viewing on the City’s website (www.CityofClawson.com) and at Clawson City Hall, 425 N. Main St, Clawson, MI 48017, prior to the public hearing, during the City’s regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM through 5:30 PM. Written comments may be addressed to the Planning Commission at the City Hall address. Oral comments will be taken during the hearing on June 23, 2026.
