CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CLINTON MACOMB COUNTY, MICHIGAN INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 504 The following is a summary of Ordinance No. 504 that was introduced at a meeting of the Board of Trustees on March 2, 2026. Section 1. Preamble. The purpose of this ordinance is to promote and protect the public health, safety and welfare. Section 2. The Code of Ordinances for the Charter Township of Clinton, Part 10, Chapter 1062.19 is amended to read as follows: 1062.19 ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES, SNOW MOBILES AND UNLICENSED MOTOR VEHICLES PROHIBITED. A. The operation of all terrain vehicles, snow mobiles, and unlicensed motorized vehicles, including, but not limited to, golf carts, go-karts, mopeds, electric bicycles and scooters (“Vehicles”) upon Township property, including Township parks, is prohibited except as follows: 1. Usage of Electric bicycles shall only be permitted on paved trails and sidewalks. 2. The speed of an Electric bicycle shall not exceed 10 MPH. 3. All persons on an Electric bicycle under the age of 18 shall wear a helmet. 4. An operator of a Vehicle is liable to the Township for any damage caused by said Vehicle to the grounds or to any other Township property. B. Ordinance does not apply to a power-driven mobility device used by an individual with a mobility disability. C. Ordinance does not apply to motor vehicles. D. Provides the costs and fines for violations. Section 3. Repealer. Ordinances in conflict are repealed to give this Ordinance full force and effect. Section 4. Severability. Parts held invalid are severed. Section 5. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall become effective upon adoption and publication.
