NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDING – FY 2026 RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF NEW BALTIMORE A Public Hearing has been scheduled for Monday, February 9, 2026 at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers located at 36535 Green Street, New Baltimore, MI 48047. The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain the views of citizens concerning community development and housing needs, as required by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The City of New Baltimore will be submitting two applications for the competition-based bricks and mortar projects from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2027 from the Macomb “Urban County” Program, Phase 7 & Phase 8 ADA sidewalk ramp projects. The City will also consider allocating $6,100.00 in funds for multiple Non-Profit public service agency requests and/or will facilitate the funds for Senior Programming in the City of New Baltimore. Federal guidelines require that maximum priority be given to activities, which will benefit low or moderate-income families, or aid in the prevention of slums or blight. A variety of projects are eligible for community development funding, these include the following: Property Acquisition Housing Rehabilitation Code Enforcement Public Facilities Planning & Administration Public Infrastructure Handicapped Barrier Removal Public Services Rehabilitation of Buildings Citizens residing in blighted areas or lower income persons are encouraged to participate. Arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter, will be made upon receiving 72-hour notice.
