PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING At 7:00PM, on January 27, 2026, at the Chesterfield Township Municipal Offices, 47275 Sugarbush Road, Chesterfield, MI 48047, a public hearing will be held to hear funding requests for Community Block Grant Funds (CDBG), as required by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are eligible for use in Low/Moderate Income areas as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Chesterfield Township will be receiving approximately $26,500.00 dollars in Community Development Block Grant funds for FY2026 from the Macomb “Urban County” Program. The following requests have been made. Project Description Amount Senior Chore Program $3,000 Care House $7,000 Hearts 4 Homes $2,000 Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers $1,485 Macomb County Rotary Emergency Shelter Team (MCREST) $1,890 Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids $1,200 Single Family Living $2,000 Turning Point, Inc. $5,000 Total amount requested from Service Agencies $20,575 Federal guidelines require that maximum priority be given to activities which primarily benefit low-or-moderate income families or which aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight. A variety of projects are eligible for community development funding. These include: Property Acquisition Handicapped Barrier Removal Public Facilities Code Enforcement Rehabilitation of Building Public Infrastructure Planning and Administration Housing Rehabilitation Public Services Homebuyer Assistance Arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter, will be made upon receiving 72-hour notice.
