CITY OF FARMINGTON HILLS SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 7, 2026 The special meeting was called to order by Mayor Rich at 5: 33 p.m. Council Present: Aldred, Boleware, Bridges, Dwyer, Knol, Rich, and Starkman Council Absent: None Others Present: City Manager Mekjian, Assistant City Manager Mondora, City Clerk Lindahl, and City Attorneys Joppich, Sashital, and Young Approved/Accepted: -Entering into a closed session under Section 8(1)(h) of the Open Meetings Act for the purpose of discussing written attorney-client privileged communications that are exempt from disclosure, with the City Clerk taking minutes and City Attorneys Joppich, Sashital, and Young attending this part of the closed session; and also under Section 8(1)(a) of the Open Meetings Act for the purpose of considering personnel/employment matters allowed under Section 8(1)(a) of the Open Meetings Act relating to the City Manager, at the City Manager’s request, with City Manager Mekjian, City Clerk Lindahl, and City Attorneys Joppich, Sashital, and Young attending as needed -Resignation of City Manager Gary Mekjian and approval of the 1/7/26 term sheet signed by him relating to such resignation subject to preparation of a separation agreement formalizing said term sheet to be signed by Mr. Mekjian and the City Council approval of same Theresa Rich, Mayor Carly Lindahl, City Clerk
