NOTICE TO CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF CLINTON PROPERTY OWNERS TO DESTROY NOXIOUS WEEDS TO ALL OWNERS OF LAND LOCATED IN CLINTON TOWNSHIP: As provided for in Public Act #359 of the Public Acts of 1941, as amended, and the Charter Township of Clinton Ordinance No. 378, as amended, you are hereby notified that it shall be the duty of all owners of land on which noxious weeds are growing to destroy the weeds before they reach a height of six inches or re-grow to a height of six inches, and to prevent such noxious weeds from perpetuating themselves or to prevent such weeds from becoming a detriment to the public health. Said destruction shall be completed no later than May 1, 2026, and as many times as necessary to maintain the lots from perpetuating themselves and becoming a detriment to the public health. The accepted method of treating and eradicating such noxious weeds is by plowing under or cutting down. Burning of the weeds is not allowed in Clinton Township. Failure of any property owner to destroy said noxious weeds by May 1, 2026, and thereafter as necessary, may result in the property owner being subjected to a fine not more than $100.00 or ninety (90) days in jail and/or both, and will result in the Township entering on said premises to destroy said weeds as often as necessary at the expense of the property owner. Said expense will consist of a lien on the property as provided by law. If the Township cuts your property, you will be billed each time; $150.00 for property less than one acre or $300.00 per acre for property of one acre or more.
