CITY OF MOUNT CLEMENS NOTICE OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION/SUMMARY Please take notice that at a meeting on November 3, 2025, the Mount Clemens City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 48.000 which is summarized as follows: SECTION 1. Creation of Ordinance 48.000: To adopt by reference the Michigan Vehicle Code, MCL 257.1 through MCL 257.923 to allow for the limited and regulated use of golf carts on the city streets. Defines operative words for the operation of golf carts within the City. All parking, stopping and standing regulations of the City are applicable to golf carts operated in the city; to further require safety inspections and require registration of all golf carts to be operated on a city street; provide any violations of ordinance are civil infractions carrying a fine up to $500.00. SECTION 2. SEVERABILITY: If any section, paragraph, clause or provision of this Ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional, the invalidity or unconstitutionality of such section, paragraph, clause or provision shall not affect any of the remaining provisions of this Ordinance. SECTION 3. REPEAL: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE DATE: Provides for Ordinance to take effect 30 days from and after publication.
